- A better understanding of the art culture during the 1920's can help the band to interpret how people including George Gershwin may have thought during that time period. The 1920's was a very jazzy time which would explain the jazz influenced piece that is Rhapsody in Blue. If the band is able to think like the mind of a man from the 1920's they could reach a better interpretation of Rhapsody in Blue and influence their ability to play the piece well.
